Spring?

The calendar says:
But we have had this the past two days when getting off the school bus:
70 degrees in the morning, hail by mid afternoon, and colder at night. What a day!

Record On...

Girl put your record on...
The Wall!!!
Playing with the idea of records as wreath bases recently. This one would be perfect for a nursery or child's room with its vintage SNAP cards. A bit of glitter and tinsel trim sparkle it up.
Lots of fun variations to be done. These are great on red records. I have a whole other set I've done on black records with vintage vocabulary cards. My very own round-to-it!!!

Luck of the Irish

I have a "friend" who introduced me to these last year on St. Patrick's day:
She is not a friend to my thighs! However, I will say that these Oreo truffles are beyond divine.
Wishing everyone a day full of luck and leprechauns! A pot of gold would not be frowned upon either...

Le Poisson

Well the show is over and I'll leave it at that. I'm done dwelling and we'll just hope that April will bring better ones. Since I had SO much free time during the show I did have to shop a little.
This fish casserole called to me all weekend. By Sunday afternoon it was half price and I knew it was meant to find a new home with me.
It's marked with a company name (which I cannot for the life of me make out) and France on the bottom.

I love the fin detailing under the glaze. Super quality.
So all in all, not a complete loss. I may not have won as a seller but with this and Friday's bird cage I guess I did come out ahead!

Find of the Day

Headed up to Dayton this morning to unload in my space. Lucky 14, lucky 14...
Space 14 will be lucky for me!!!
And as the Princess and I headed back to the car what did I spy in someone's booth but a piece ever so fit for Spring?
Surely the birds will be singing tomorrow. It even retains it's lovely wood perch so I simply could not resist. What ever shall I place inside to doo da it up?
Wishing everyone a spring like weekend and sending out thoughts and hope to all those suffering in Japan.

Moving On and Rednesday

Fortunately for me yesterday was this one's birthday. You can't really continue to feel sorry for yourself when she's ever so happy. Dad makes a rockin' carrot cake which also helps!
So it's time to move on and get ready for the next one. Up this weekend is a flea market/antique-ish show. It will be better. It will be better. As I began pulling out items to bring I thought I'd do a couple of reds.
Polka dots on an apron. How much do I love this?
And a red tool box with a car graphic. Now that's a "man-tique" for you. Wouldn't it be great in a little boy's room? Said boy could hide his treasures inside. In fact my own boy is trying to get his mitts on this one!
Now I'm off to open many, MANY packages of Lalaloopsy dolls for a certain 6 year old. I love these toys. LOVE them. Positively adore them and no, they are not paying me to say that. Of course if someone at the company were to see this post and want to send some more to the Princess I wouldn't say no...! They are so creative (although I am headed towards a world of hurt trying to get through all the plastic packaging).
Show details are on my sidebar. Saturday and Sunday at the Hara Complex in Dayton, OH.

Number of the Day & Giveaway Winner

I should warn you at the start that I am in a bad mood today. A really bad mood. It all stems from this...
Sunday's craft show was a bitter disappointment. A mind numbing waste of time and money. A colossal abyss that I cannot wrap my mind around. I spent over four hours in travel to and from and did not even make booth fee. Very few vendors, even fewer customers and don't you love the electrical cords running through my space? I had to force them to put more tape down as I explained about people tripping...
Since I'm on my soap box let me throw this around. Isn't a craft show supposed to be items MADE by people? Made by people in their booths? When people actually entered my booth I had to answer the following question over and over again, "Did you make these?" Um, duh, YES. With my own two hands in my unheated, unfinished side of the basement craft hole. NO, I did not purchase my items as some sort of franchise scheme and no, my jewelry is not made in Bali assembled by children in horrible conditions. It's me. Digging through dirty garages and yard sales to find hidden gems which need some TLC and some thinking to give them new life. Bringing them home, CLEANING them up and then toiling away in my aforementioned freezing "studio".
Oh, it was horrific in so many ways. And I am the idiot who pre-paid for a holiday booth at the same venue in November (because I was trying to save $5 on booth fee). An all around crushing experience. So today I must empty out the car and figure out what to do with MANY, MANY vintage sheet music items. Yeah!
OK. Enough self pity. On to my number of the day which is as follows:
Happy birthday to my baby bird (who is so NOT a baby)! Today is her day and I'm going to try to focus on making it fun for her. Because she is fabulous and was quite the trooper helping me set up in THE POURING RAIN on Saturday (not one single break did I get). She even fell asleep in the car on the way there.
And a big shout-out to Coloradolady who is the winner of my 100th post giveaway. Young Captain America picked her name out of the bowl this morning. Drop me a line with your address and we'll get your goodies out.
I'm off to begin unpacking and getting ready for next weekend's show which has got to be better???????
Hope everyone had a great weekend filled with good junque!

Birds Will Be Singing

Birds will be singing on Sunday. At least in my booth! Working on more pieces for my upcoming show. It's a fundraiser for the Music Boosters at Springfield High School so I've got a sheet music theme going on.

I have a thing for vintage metal frames and this grouping of thrifted frames is all dolled up and ready to go. Spring is on the way and I'm ready to sing about it (not that you'd want to hear that so perhaps I'll just do it in my head)!

One day left till I announce the winner of my 100th post giveaway (get in while you still can).
