Dans la Boite

While out at an antique mall last week I stumbled across this (yes, stumbled - it was on the floor and I am not the most graceful of pickers even on my best day):
Lid off revealed the following which amused me no end (do you think the careful wording is a result of translation or the nature of how much more erudite we were many years ago):

Peel back the wax paper and you will find:
Perfectly stunning like the day they were made.  So lovely!
There were two boxes.  I almost didn't take both.  As I set the second one back my inner junque magnet screamed, "Are you crazy?  You will regret that..."  So in the cart it went.
The only dilemma now is - do I split them up and sell by the piece or do I sell the box as is?
They have so much potential.
If you read my last post about buying American you will chuckle to note these were made in France.  They are vintage which means I supported a local business and thus I continue to live my mantra, "Buy American.  Buy Vintage."

Awesome find. I'm thinking sell them in the box, because they look really cool displayed like that.

Okay, I wanna know where you were? LOL I can't find a decent antique mall here in the Dayton area! Love the crochet thread! I'd probably sell the entire box. I usually pay $3 apiece for those suckers. Let me know what you do! Hope you have a happy turkey day, Carrie! gobble gobble....

GORGEOUS! I'm glad you listed to your inner junker and bought both boxes!

I hope you'll link these beauties up at Knick of Time Tuesday - the party starts tonight!

What a great find! But you are right: that is quite the conundrum. I wouldn't want to separate them. They look so lovely together! Coming over from Faded Charm and a happy new follower. =)

I saw you featured on Knick of Time and had to visit.
I agree that they look stunning boxed as is, but if someone wants to use them, or if you want to save a few PLUS the box for yourself, splitting them up would not be a crime.

My recent post is about DMC floss.
